The Eagle Barge Inn
The Eagle is a converted Dutch barge dating back to 1921. She is one of the last hot riveted steel barges afloat. She started life as a sugar beet carrier in Holland and was taken over as a troop carrier by the German Army during WWII. At the end of the war she again was used as a cargo carrier until bought in 2001 and converted as you see today. The bar is made from Fort William lock gates and the stairs of ‘burr-elm’, even a table made from a church roof. This is a ‘Tardis.’ The Eagle is a fully licensed pub and restaurant. The bar is fully stocked with the best Whiskey's available in Scotland. We specialise in Seafood evening meals Snacks can be obtained during the day along with tea, coffee or a great pint that’s brewed locally. Booking in advance is strongly recommended to avoid disappointment. You are always guarenteed a friendly welcome at The Eagle by propritors Paul and Jan along with Bo and Flora. Come along and see for youself!
